Warwick Free Public Library is very pleased to host Massachusetts author Yasmin Azad, who will read from her recently published (2020) coming-of-age memoir, Stay, Daughter: A Memoir of Muslim Girlhood. It begins: “”We did not stay in our houses. Not in the way our grandmothers had, or our mothers. We went out a little more and veiled ourselves a little less.”

Azad was born and raised in Sri Lanka, where she received a degree in English before moving to the United States. She recently retired after many years as a mental health counselor. Kirkus Reviews gave the book a starred review and deemed it a notable book of the month, calling Stay, Daughter “A loving and approachable coming-of-age story about generational change.”

Please contact the Warwick Library to register and receive the Zoom link.
