So why DID Yale need women? In short, it was to keep attracting the top men. In 1969, Yale admitted its first women undergrads. Join us for an interview with award winning author Anne Gardiner Perkins, whose book Yale Needs Women tells the little known story of the first female students admitted to Yale. These young women fought sexism, isolation, and were barred from many of the privileges of their male colleagues. But fight they did. This is a story of strength, resilience, and courage that paved the way for generations of women. The author will be interviewed by two of the original women who were admitted in that groundbreaking class. Watch on YouTube: Yale Needs Women
