Where: On Zoom. Click here to register. 

Join us for a virtual poetry workshop! Kids will participate in group dialogue and discussion about Sarah Kay’s poem If I Should Have a Daughter. They will analyze the poem, annotate the text, and discuss the video of Kay’s performance. Everyone will write their own poem and have the opportunity to share it with the group if they want.
 
Open to grades 4-8 (ages 10-14). Registration is required. If you’re signing someone else up, please use the participant’s name and age when registering.
 
Desireé Dallagiacomo is an American spoken word poet and teacher. Her poems have been featured on Button Poetry and she is a Pushcart Prize Nominee. Des started performing poetry slams and open mics in 2009. She has coached youth and adult slam teams, and in 2017 she coached the Forward Arts poetry slam team to an international championship at the largest youth poetry slam festival in the world, Brave New Voices!
 
Note: This is an online event via Zoom. An invite will be sent at least an hour prior to the start of the program to the email given at registration.
