The current calendar year need not be invoked to make the point that there’s never been a better time than now for a good laugh. Laughter, other than being jolly good fun, helps to boost the immune system, increase oxygen intake, release endorphins and serotonin, reduce blood pressure, relieve stress, and promote emotional growth. With benefits like these, we should all laugh more. This is where Laughter Yoga can help.
Laughter Yoga combines interactive laughter exercises with deep centering breaths and calming movements. It is a joyful way to connect with others and it’s for all ages and backgrounds. It’s also an effective way to handle a bad mood or the blues. Laughter Yoga has been recommended by Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Andrew Weil as well as Oprah Winfrey.
Robert Rivest will lead a Laughter Yoga session via Zoom on Monday, March 22 at 6:30 PM.
Mr. Rivest is an international performer and teacher. In addition to being a comic mime artist, he is also a health, literacy and stress relief educator, a mindfulness teacher, a certified laughter yoga master trainer and an engaging public speaker.
